New measurement types can be easily created in OSCAR. You can also create measurement groups. The guide below will walk you through both of those tasks.

To add a measurement type
1. From the schedule page, click on "Administration" to open the admin panel.
2. On the left hand side, click on "System Management" to expand that part of the menu, then click on the "Customize Measurements" link.
3. Click on the "Add Measurement Type" link.
4. Fill in the add measurement type form. You will find details on each field below:
     - Type: Short code that OSCAR will be using to identify the measurement. We recommend 1 to 5 letters/numbers, without spaces. Eg. "BP", "WT" , "GRAV", etc.
     - Type Description: A few words to describe the measurement. Eg. "Blood Pressure", "Weight", "Gravida", etc.
     - Display Name: Name that will be used in some sections of the software. We usually enter the same information as in the "type description".
     - Measuring Instructions: If desired, you can use the measuring instructions to enter units related to this specific measurement. This is optional.
     - Validation: The validation is what OSCAR will use to check the validity of the data entered for each measurement. Select this with care based on what you are adding as these cannot be changed afterwards.
5. Once done, click the "Add" button. OSCAR will give you a confirmation message at the top of that page that the measurement has been successfully entered.

To add a measurement group

1. From the schedule page, click on "Administration" to open the admin panel.
2. On the left hand side, click on "System Management" to expand that part of the menu, then click on the "Customize Measurements" link.
3. Before adding the group, you likely want to check that the measurements you wish to add do exist in your system. To do so, click on the "View All Measurement Types" link. A list of all existing measurement types will appear on the screen. You can either scroll through or use your browser's search functionality (ctrl+F) to find your measurements. While on this page, note down what OSCAR calls the measurement "description". This is what you will need when creating groups. If your measurement isn't in the list, check the guide above for a step by step guide on how to add measurements to your Juno.
4. Go back to the "Customize Measurements" section of the administration panel, and click on the "Add Measurement Group" link.
5. Enter the name of a group in the field at the top, then click on the "Continue" button.
6. A page with two boxes will appear. On the left, you will find a list of all the available measurements. Find the measurement you are looking for in the list, select it by clicking on its description, then click the "Add" button. The measurement will be moved to the right column indicating that it has been properly added.
7. When done, simply close the window.
