You have configured your Juno EMR to use eFaxing and are now ready to start using the integration? Not quite sure how to go about doing that? You are at the perfect spot! The guide below will provide you with a general introduction to our eFaxing tools to help you get started!

Faxes can be sent from four different sections of the software: consultation requests, prescriptions, eForms and documents. A brief description of the faxing for each of the four sections can be found below.

Consultation Requests

As long as your specialists have fax numbers entered in the specialist admin, you will have the option of faxing your consultations out. There will be new buttons on the consultation page allowing you to Fax, Save & Fax and Update and Fax.

If you need to send the referral to a different fax line as well, simply scroll to the bottom of the page, select the extra number and add them to the list of recipients.

Prescriptions

Prescriptions can be sent out as soon as two criteria are respected: the patient has an assigned preferred pharmacy and there is a signature on the prescription.

You can refer to our guide to preferred pharmacies in Juno EMR solution on how to set preferred pharmacies in the system.

There are two options for the signature. You can use the signature pad available on the pad preview page, then click the save button. The signature will then be added to the prescription and the fax buttons will become usable. You can also have your digital signature added whenever you write a prescription in which case the fax buttons would be available immediately without having to take further steps.

Note: In some provinces, BC for example, signature stamps are discouraged / not accepted. It is up to you to determine if this meets the requirements for your area and whether you want to proceed with enabling the signature stamps.

Once enabled, signature stamping will be enabled for all providers.

eForms

When a form has faxing capabilities, there is an extra menu at the bottom which allows you to select a recipient from your 'faxing list' (your list of entries in the specialist section), or add a number manually by typing it in. Once a number has been added, faxing buttons become usable.

eForms built with our eForm generator will have this capability automatically.

If you decide to go with eFaxing for your forms but realize some do not have faxing enable, you can send us the eForms names via email and we will add the few line of codes for you. We will also make sure the faxing works properly for them.

Documents

When looking at the patient documents list (eChart, click on the document header), you can select documents you wish to send out on by checking the boxes on the left, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click the 'Fax PDF' button. This will bring you to a page where you get to select the recipients in a very similar way as you would for an eForm. Once a number is added, the fax buttons become usesable.
